Only SIX DAYS until the World Premiere Screening of my film!

Hello!

I just wanted to take a quick break from our guest post series this week to let you know that my labour-of-love Comedy Festival film is almost here! In case you’ve somehow missed all my banging on about it, it’s an all-new, 45-minute standalone comedy film called For The Term Of His Natural Lies.

For the past few months, I’ve been taking moments from 15 old out-of-copyright films, rewriting them, re-editing them,  and re-VOICING them, to create a whole new standalone comedy film, featuring character voices by me and the marvellous Roz Hammond. It’s been such an enormous challenge and such a thrilling, weird journey, bringing this from a Kooky Idea to a Finished Product, and I’m super excited for its upcoming two-week Melbourne International Comedy Festival season, which starts next Monday 7 April at Doubletree by Hilton, 270 Flinders Street.

This project is definitely one of the most ambitious, all-encompassing (and time-consuming!) things I’ve ever done… but I know that if I can achieve the result I’m after, it’ll also definitely be one of the BEST things I’ve ever done. It’s chock full of moments like this:

N.B. These two clips are just first-draft versions – the finished product has better-recorded voices, full sound effects, music, etc… but you get the rough idea. 🙂

If you’re curious to find out how I’ve managed to turn 15 old movies into one new story, then why not come along and see the whole thing? Tickets for the World Premiere Screening are still available here AND here at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival website, which gives you a bit more information about it.

Thank you for reading this far (and indulging this utterly shameless plug). Okay, that’s it for this week, I’d better get back to putting the finishing touches on this thing… Only SIX DAYS to go!

Would LOVE to see you there.

Cheers,

Stephen.
