Hello everyone. So www.HowToWinGameShows.com is 3 years old today?
Yep.
Heck, it only seems like 1,096 days ago when I nervously wrote a post entitled “Well, here goes…” and fearfully hit the Publish button. I remember thinking “This is it. Once I hit that button, there’s no turning back. My idea for a site will be out in the world, for better or worse, and now I’ve got to commit to it”. So I took a deep breath, hit the button, and then…
Nothing happened.
It’s actually taken quite a while for the site to grow. Back then, I made a promise to you (and to myself) that I’d post once a week – on a Tuesday – and that my posts would generally be around 700 words in length. That they would contain as much useful, helpful information, and as many warnings about what not to do, as I could possibly find.
Since then, over the course of 154 posts, I’ve interviewed 9 game show winners, 2 game show producers, 4 game show hosts, and 2 game show question writers. I’ve shared everything I can think of about my own particular game show journey, written 4 book reviews, and shared as much game show news as I can collect. I’ve tweeted 171 times (not many, I know) and the site has slowly, slowly risen through the ranks in Google to the point where this has happened:
And, as I’m sure you know, I’ve also written this eBook on the subject.
I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for your support and encouragement over the last three years. Thank you for visiting, and thank you for the lovely feedback on the content – it honestly has been so encouraging. I hope that you’re finding the stuff I post to be helpful. As the site begins its fourth year, I’ve been plugging away behind the scenes, and have already got quite a few things planned for upcoming posts. Including…
- Behind-the-scenes reflections, anecdotes and tips from my involvement with another 7 game shows
- My first exclusive interview with a winner of The Chase
- Another exclusive interview with a game show star
- An exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with another member of the Family Feud team
- An in-depth discussion with a legendary game show Producer and Executive Producer, whose successful career spans decades
- More book reviews on relevant, game show-related texts
… And plenty more besides!
Tomorrow, my interview with Brian Nankervis – the brilliant and charming co-creator of RockWiz – concludes. And after that…? Well, you’ll just have to stay tuned. But as you can see, there’s plenty more good stuff to come in the upcoming weeks and months, here at www.HowToWinGameShows.com.
Thank you, once again, so much, for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Stephen.
