Why me?

What authority do I have to create a site called www.howtowingameshows.com?

What makes me think I’m entitled to give advice, tips and hints on this subject?

Both fair questions, and I’m glad I asked them. To myself.

Well, apart from the two wins I’ve had on game shows (mentioned once or twice elsewhere on this site), I’ve been involved with quizzes, game shows and trivia contests for a very long time. I’ve been a game show researcher, question writer, adjudicator and producer, in addition to having been a game show contestant. Over the years, all these experiences have added up, and a site like this seemed a good way of sharing the knowledge, and passing on what I have learned.

Here’s a list of the relevant TV game show-related gigs I’ve had over the years:

Question contributor and verifier – game show 1 vs 100 (2007)

Scriptwriter and question contributor – quiz / game show The ConTest (2006 – 2007)

Question contributor – game show The Rich List (2006)

Head writer and adjudicator – comedy quiz show You May Be Right (2006)

Writer and adjudicator – comedy quiz show Spicks and Specks (2005 – 2006)

Producer – game show Deal Or No Deal (2004 – 2005)

Writer – comedy quiz show The Einstein Factor (2004 – 2005)

Head writer – game show Deal Or No Deal (2003 – 2005)

Head Writer – comedy game show Sunday Roast (1999)

Writer – daily comedy game show All Star Squares (1999)

More details can be found at my page on imdb (The Internet Movie DataBase), which is at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0356116/

In addition to these TV jobs, I served as a question researcher and writer for the Cranium board game (Australian version) in 2001, and with a colleague, I created and have presented the live trivia quiz show Not So Serious Trivia in hotels, private functions and corporate settings since 2000.

And whether you’re familiar with the above shows or not, whether you’re in Australia or not, I believe I have something to offer. So, I’d like to throw it over to you again.

Do you have any questions about the shows above?

Are any of them in the same genre as the shows you’re interested in?

If there’s any information you’d like to know about any of them, just ask!
